Geographical and Political Location: Being located at the crossroads of Asia, Europe and Africa, makes Turkey one of the most geopolitically strategic countries of the world.Coğrafi ve Siyasi Konum: Asya, Avrupa ve Afrika kıtalarının kesişme noktasında bulunması, Türkiye’yi jeopo-litik açıdan dünyanın en stratejik ülkelerinden biri hâline getirmiştir.

Because of having the shortest intercontinental routes, it is where the Eastern and Western civilizations meet. The center of major trade and migration routes, Tur-key has Georgia, Armenia, Nakhchivan and Iran to the east, Bulgaria and Greece to the west and Iraq and Syria to the south.
 Ülke, kıtalar arası en kısa geçiş yollarına sahip olması nedeniyle Doğu-Batı uygarlıklarının buluştuğu yerdir. Önemli göç ve ticaret yollarının merkezi olan Türkiye’nin doğusunda Gürcistan, Ermenistan, Nahçıvan ve İran; ba-tısında Bulgaristan ve Yunanistan; güneyinde Suriye ve Irak yer alır.

Turkey is surrounded by the Black Sea, the Aegean and the Mediterranean. The Marmara Sea, the Bosporus, and the Dardanelles are distinctive features of the Turkish Geo-graphy.
       Türkiye’nin; üç tarafı Karadeniz, Akdeniz ve Ege denizleriyle çevrilidir. Marmara Denizi ile Çanakkale ve İstanbul boğaz-ları Türkiye coğrafyasının özgün değerleridir.


Turkey is a member of a variety of international organiza-tions such as the United Nations, the Council of Europe, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) the Or-ganization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the World Trade   Organization  (WTO),  the  Organization  of   Islamic Conference (OIC), the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Or-ganization and the Economic Cooperation Organization, and it is also continuing accession negotiations for full EU mem-bership.      

Birleşmiş Milletler, Avrupa Konseyi, Kuzey Atlantik Antlaş-ması Örgütü (NATO), Ekonomik İş Birliği ve Kalkınma Örgütü (OECD), Avrupa Güvenlik ve İş Birliği Teşkilatı (AGİT), Dünya Ticaret Örgütü (DTÖ), İslam Konferansı Örgütü (İKÖ), Karadeniz Ekonomik İş Birliği Örgütü (KEİ), Ekonomik İş Birliği Teşkilatı (EİT) gibi çeşitli kuruluşlara üye olan Türkiye, aynı zamanda Avrupa Birliği (AB)’ne üyelik müzakerelerini yürütmektedir.
