Niğde Province is situated in the south­east of Turkey’s Central Anatolian Region. Situated at an altitude of 1229 metres the population of Niğde Province, according to the general 2007 census, is 331,667 Niğde has Aksaray, Nevşehir, Kayseri and Konya as neighbours with the Bolkar Mountains to the south, the province of İçel to the southeast and the Aladağlar Mountains to the east forming natural borders that separate it from the province of Adana.

Niğde İli ülkemizin iç Anadolu bölgesinin güneydoğusundadır. Rakımı 1229 metre olan Niğde ilinin 2007 yılı nüfus sayımlarına göre genel nüfus toplamı 331.667 dir. Aksa­ray, Nevşehir, Kayseri, Konya illerine komşu olan Niğde, güneyde Bolkar dağları ile İçel ilinden, güneydoğu ve doğudan Aladağlar’ın oluşturduğu doğal sınırlar ile de Adana ilin­den ayrılır.

As for the districts of Çamardı and Ulukışla, they are counted as being in the Mediterranean region.

Thermal springs, historical sites, beautiful scenery, opportunities for mountaineering and winter sports and a rich history are the elements that give this beautiful town the possibility of being an important travel destination.

Çamardı ve Ulukışla ilçeleri ise Akdeniz bölgesinde kalmaktadır.

Termal kaynakları, ören yerleri, doğal gü­zellikleri, dağ ve kış turizm olanakları ve zen­gin tarihi doku, bu güzel kenti turizm merkezi yapabilecek önemli unsurlardır.

The fundamental source of the locals’ income is agriculture and animal husbandry. The Niğde Central Industrial Centre, the Bor Leather Industrial Centre and the Birko Sheep Corporation and other trades are important occupations for the local people.

Halkın esas geçim kaynağı tarım ve hay­vancılıktır. Niğde Merkez Organize Sanayi, Bor Deri Organize Sanayi ve Birko Koyun­lu A.Ş. halı fabrikası ve diğer sanayi kolları Niğde halkı için önemli istihdam alanlarıdır.

Niğde Province is top of the list in the country in the number of apple trees it boasts. This province provides 25% of the potato production of the whole country. It is an important centre of traditional handicrafts.

Elma ağacı sayısında Niğde ili ülke sıralama­sında ilk sırada yer alır. Ülke genelinde pa­tates üretiminin ise %25’lik bölümü bu ilde üretilir. Geleneksel el sanatları bakımından Niğde önemli bir ildir.

The carpets made in the Niğde are sold all over the world. It’s proximity to the Capital Ankara, it’s being located in Cappadocia, it’s wealth of history and it’s natural beauty all go towards making this pretty Anatolian town something special.

Ecemiş Waters and the Ulu river are important rivers.

Niğde consists of 6 districts: Central, Altunhisar, Bor, Çamardı, Çiftlik and Ulukışla.

Ecemiş Suyu, Ulu ırmak önemli akarsulardır.

Niğde ilinin Merkez ilçe, Altunhisar, Bor, Çamardı, Çiftlik ve Ulukışla olmak üzere 6 ilçesi mevcuttur.

The Leather Trade Centre of Bor, the mountain houses of Çamardı and the hot springs of Ulukışla play important roles in the economic and social development of Niğde province.

 Bor ilçesindeki organize deri sanayi, Çamardı ilçesindeki dağ evi ve Ulukışla ilçesindeki termal kaplıca turizmi Niğde ilinin ekonomik ve sosyal gelişimine önemli katkılar sağlamaktadır.
