Shopping in Fortnum and Mason's Sir Thomas Beecham saw a lady.   He half-recognized her but could not put a name to the face.   He tried to retreat, but it was no good.
"Fortnum and Mason's" mağazasında   alışveriş ederken, Sir Thomas bir hanım   gördü. Onu tanır gibi oldu, ama* adını   anımsayamadı. Kaçmaya çalrştı, ama    başaramadı.

'Good afternoon, Sir Thomas.   How are you?' said the lady.

'I'm very well, thank you/  And how are you?' replied the famous conductor.

'Very well, thank you.   And how is your family?'
"Çok iyiler,teşekkür ederim.Ya sizin aileniz nasıl?"

'Very well, thank you, Sir Thomas.   But my sister is rather unwell'.
"Çok iyiler, teşekkür ederim, Sir Thomas. Ama kız kardeşim biraz rahatsız."

'I'm sorry to hear it'.
"Bunu duyduğuma üzüldüm."

'Oh, it's hot serious.   She's just tired really. She's been working rather hard lately'.

'I hope she can get some rest.   Er... What does your sister do? I've forgotten'.
'She's the Queen of England!'
